Cheryl's Room

PICT0009Given that my husband is an independent bookseller, it makes sense that our house is overrun with books. In spite of seventeen floor to celiling bookshelves and numerous other book shelves, we still have books piled in stacks in front of the books on the shelves. We both shared a love of books before we joined our collections whose only duplicate books were textbooks from the same courses we had taken in graduate school.

Carey’s collections include Native American books, signed first editions, science fiction and horror and books with unique illustrations or bindings. I collect nineteenth century British novels, particularly Anthony Trollope, Greek books, children’s books and odd books such as the History of Yodeling. My favorite book in my collection is a copy of Winnie the Pooh signed by both A.A. Milne and Ernest Shepard.
